About Karen Carter Riffle
Karen Carter Riffle is a fairly new author, but she is not new to writing. She is a former special education teacher with a big love for genealogy, history, and discovery. Drawing on years of research – and a personal connection with the Rector family – she has written two books about Sarah Rector who was once known as "the richest Black girl in America."
After finishing her first book, Karen felt compelled to keep writing. She wrote her second book, a children's version of Sarah Rector's life, just four months after publishing the first book. Karen already has several other book ideas swirling in her head.
In her free time, Karen watches sports of all kinds, but labels herself as a soccer and softball fanatic. Gardening, camping, and spoiling her four grandkids is where she loves to spend her time.
